Each of our Mali djembes are crafted by expert carvers using specialty hardwoods, finished with top-rate skin and rope, with 3-top ring tuning system. Shells are selected from Hare, Lenke, Dugura, and Acajou, healthy and well seasoned.
- SUITABLE FOR ADVANCED DRUMMERS WITH LARGER HANDS - Designed for advanced drummers who require a larger playing surface, this oversized African djembe drum features a 13.75-14.5" OSD wood, 24-25" full height, and 9-10" OSD base. Perfect for those with larger hands or intricate playing techniques. After import from Africa, each instrument is cleaned, inspected, tuned, and played individually to check sound and quality.
- PREMIUM SOUND QUALITY WITH STRONG BASS AND WELL-PITCHED SLAPS - At proper tension, these 14" djembe delivers an even wet/dry sound quality, featuring a strong bass, deep tones, and crisp, well-pitched slaps. The thick Mali goat skin is wet shaved and hydrated with a touch of shea butter. Simple geometric deep carved designs cover half to full of the base.
- SOLID ONE PIECE CONSTRUCTION WITH EFFICIENT 3-TOP RING TUNING SYSTEM - The wooden drum features solid one-piece construction. Wood is treated inside and out with lots of shea butter and coconut oil. With 5mm braided rasta drum ropes and a 3-top ring tuning system, locking in tension for better tuning efficiency. Custom-fitted 1/4" rings maintain even tension, and the well-shaped bearing edge is hand-rounded for optimal playing comfort, skin safety, and sound quality.
